History of the Ottoman Empire
The last link in the series of history of Islam that Darul Musannafin has started is the History of the Ottoman Empire, which our comrade Maulvi Muhammad Aziz Sahib M.A. has written after about seven years of hard work and study. It can be said that this is the first history of this great empire, which has been written in Urdu language. Before that, whatever has been written about it in our language were only translations and thoughts of European authors.
The second feature of this history is its comprehensiveness, that is, it is the entire history of the Turks from the beginning to the present time, and in this respect its status is also important.
The different volumes of the series of History of Islam of Darul Musannafin will be published as they are prepared, so its first part has been published, the second is in print.
History of the Ottoman Empire will be completed in two parts, the first part is being published today and the second is ready to go to press.

(Director of Darul Musannafin)
Preface:
The Ottoman Turks, whose name is not attributed to any race or nation but to their first ruler, Osman Khan, first entered Asia Minor as nomads, then founded an empire that within a century and a half was considered one of the greatest powers in the world. Less than three hundred years had passed before the Ottoman Empire became the greatest empire in the world in terms of size and power. Its heyday ended with the conquests of Sultan Selim I in the East and Suleiman the Magnificent in the West, whose rule extended over vast parts of Asia, Europe and Africa. At this time, the Ottoman Turks were a central European power, with Hungary as their vassal and their armies reaching the walls of Vienna, the seat of Austria. Their awe spread throughout the East.
But during the lifetime of Suleiman the Magnificent, certain weaknesses began to emerge within the empire, which became more apparent day by day after his death. Of all the sultans who ascended the throne after Suleiman, none, except a few, maintained the empire.
The Ottoman Empire's ability to rule was not as good as it should have been, so just as the empire had risen slowly, its decline also began with the same slowness, and the period of its decline, like its heyday, is three hundred years. In the last one and a half hundred years, the Ottoman Empire continued to compete with empires much more powerful than itself, but due to internal weaknesses, it suffered such successive defeats that it finally came to an end in 1918.
Recently, the Republic of Turkey has tried to remove all the weaknesses that had led to the destruction of the Ottoman Empire in its few years of existence, and its success in this effort is one of the amazing feats of world history. It has built a strong fortress on the ruins of the previous empire, which is a living example of the determination of the Turkish people to independence. The sick man of Europe not only rose after dying, but all the powers of health and youth returned to him, so that even the Christian world of the twentieth century had to be convinced of this miracle.
In the arrangement of these pages, the most authoritative books on the history of the Ottoman Turks in English, Arabic and Persian, as well as translations of some selected Turkish and French histories, have been taken, and no minute of research and investigation has been omitted, as far as possible.
