The reality of dreams:
A dream refers to knowledge that is often obtained in sleep through an example. Imam Ghazali says that the eyes do not see and what is seen in a dream is actually an example. This is intended to explain the meaning of an example to the dreamer. This is supported by the fact that sometimes a person sleeps during the day and sees a familiar person in a dream. There is a conversation between the two. During the dream, the other person is not sleeping, so it is not possible to say that the soul of that person came out to meet the dreamer. Thus, it is proven that the person seen in the dream is just a reflection and an example. Sometimes a person realizes what he saw in the dream in reality and the dream appears exactly as it was seen. For example, a companion saw Thabit bin Shammas r.a in a dream. Thabit bin Shammas r.a was martyred while fighting Musaylima. Thabit bin Shammas r.a said to these companions: My advice to you is that do not ignore this dream, considering it just a dream. When I was martyred yesterday, a Muslim passed by me and took my armor. His house is at the very end of the houses of the people. Near his house There is a mare that jumps and runs with great enthusiasm. She has a pot on her armor and a bag on her pot. Go to Khalid bin Walid (peace be upon him) and tell him to send someone to get my armor. When you reach the Caliph of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in Medina, tell him that so-and-so owes me a debt and so-and-so among my slaves is free. That companion went to Khalid bin Walid (peace be upon him) and told him the whole story. He sent a man to get Thabit's armor. The companion narrated the dream to Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique, who allowed him to follow the will of Thabit bin Shammas. It is not proven that his will was followed after death except for the will of Thabit bin Shammas.
